  • I hope Americans are smarter than this. Politicians didn't outsource jobs to China, it was corporate executives that wanted a larger quantity of product for cheaper costs. To American corporations, Americans are too expensive to employ.

  • Portland used to be the greatest place I've ever lived. I grew up in Portland, joined the Navy and got out 4 years later. In those 4 years so much has changed. The drugs, gangs, and crime have skyrocketed. I still miss Portland, as I'm in the Army now.

  • President Obama is messing things up? I had to leave my government job (working for the VA under the Bush administration) to re-enlist in the military to make sure my wife, who has been diagnosed with lupus, has health care because my pay as a GS-6 wasn't going to cover $16,000/mo in medical bills.

  • The issue is more than just constant deployment rotations. Think of what we have to deal with when we get back. We barely know our wives or our kids. We can barely afford anything, especially if we have a family. We risk our lives each and every day.
